Claire Danielson began teaching herself to throw on a small table-top wheel in July of 2019 after graduating with her doctor of physical therapy degree. Her path was blessed with the opportunity to carry-on two other potter's dreams by buying and using their small manual and large electronic kilns in a small studio in her home.
Her work is mostly small-batch, functional pottery inspired by natural characteristics of clay. She currently has more than 10 different clay bodies in her studio and loves to experiment by making her "Pied Pieces'. The term pied referring to a combination of two or more colors. She uses a mid-fire stoneware clay originating from multiple parts of the country. All glazes are lead free and food safe.
